Juhi Chawla plays Om Puri's wife in Steven Spielberg's The Hundred Foot Journey

For our Bollywood actors and actresses getting into Hollywood films is pass with the news that Juhi Chawla has sprung a surprise to not only her countless fans but also to fellow Indians by signing up a film being produced by Steven Spielberg. The film titled The Hundred Foot Journey, that tells the story of a couple who are trying to settle in a small village in France where they run an Indian restaurant. The restaurant is situated opposite a French restaurant owned by Madame Mallory (played by Helen Mirren). Reportedly Om Puri is playing the lead while Chawla plays Puri’s wife. The Hundred Foot Journey is based on the Richard C Morias’ novel and is co-produced by Oprah Winfrey and Juliet Blake. The film is being directed by Lasse Hallstrom who is known to have earlier directed films like Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, The Hypnotist and Safe Heaven among many others. Incidentally, this is for the first time that the director is teaming up with Spielberg. Some scenes of the film are currently being shot in Mumbai.
