Eijaz Khan 'hopes to make a mark' with his movie Lucky Kabootar

Eijaz Khan
Talented and good looking TV and film actor Eijaz Khan is gung-ho about his lead role in the flick Lucky Kabootar. Talking about the movie, Eijaz states, “It is a situational comedy. It traces the life of my character called Lucky; hence the film is also called Lucky Kabootar. However he is unlucky in life as small things keep happening to him. However after his wife’s death, his fortune changes with the arrival of Shraddha Das. To find out how his life transforms, you need to watch the film.” Going on, he says, “It is a fun filled romantic story made by one of the most respected banners (Dhananjay Films). We also have good songs, hope it does well.” Eijaz who has done several films (Thakshak, Meerabai Not Out and Tanu Weds Manu) before, is not really worried about the absence of big stars in the movie. “Every actor goes through a tough starting phase and only then shows growth. We will get our day in the sun soon.” Talking about promotions he says, “This aspect of film marketing has become very important these days. You just cannot make a good film; you need to create a big enough buzz around it. This is unfortunate, but everything happens for the best. We are also doing the same. The cast has been on the road doing multi-city tours (Jaipur in the morning, Chandigarh in the evening) for the past 15 days.” Ask him what went wrong with his last film Zilla Ghaziabad and he avers, “Although I am no authority on film making, personally I feel that in the end, the film became a sort of mishmash. There was too much that was added. Having said this, one does not really know what makes a film work or not. All I can say is that I came in last and put in my best.” On the chemistry with both his co-stars in Lucky Kabootar, Eijaz explains, “Kulraj Randhawa plays my wife, while Shraddha Das is the hot woman I desire. The first scene that I had to do with Kulraj was a song. She is superb, a thorough professional. We both speak the same Mumbai language; also the fact that we both come from TV made things easier. Shraddha on the other hand was a bit more reserved at the start. We had to do some hot scenes in the water. It was a bit tough when you don’t know the other person well. In TV, we do the consummation scene after a long time, but the same rule does not apply in films. Shraddha was cool, as she has done several south films. Shah Rukh Khan had claimed that he can romance a chair, so I don’t mind doing the same with the table (laughs).” We wish you luck for your big banner movie, Eijaz.
