A page from personal diary of Parul Gulati
There is this very filmy kissa that took place once. I was in Class 12 while I was doing Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam and this particular day I had my exams going on. I would be in Delhi for my studies and come down to Mumbai for my shoots. But, once during exams I got a call from the sets saying that I had a very important shoot on the same day. So, I gave my papers as fast as I could and caught a flight for Mumbai in my school uniform. You won’t believe this but I landed up on the sets in my uniform and the worst was yet to come.
They had told me I had a really important scene to shoot but they just shot my ‘shoulder’ and I began crying on the sets. I had come all the way from Delhi in my uniform and that too for a trivial scene. I had my Math paper the next day so, I came back to my place in Mumbai and I realized that I had forgotten my keys back home in Delhi. I sat outside my house in my school uniform not knowing what to do. Then I finally called up a production guy, who stayed close to my place. He came and tried hammering the lock but it did not break. So, I went to Bandra where my cousin stayed. I was there and the next day early morning as I had a shoot again. I reached there, wearing my cousin’s loose T-shirt and my aunt’s really loose leggings. You can’t even imagine how stupid I felt. But, I was least concerned about it as I had my Math papers.
I wasn’t prepared as my books were inside the house. So, the production people went to my house and somehow managed to get my book. Soon after the shoot was over they sent this Sardarji who was a part of the production on his bike to drop me till the airport. I somehow reached my exam hall and completed my paper after having copied from everyone possible.
