A character like Perizaad has never been seen on Indian Television before: Pooja Banerjee

All of us know that Life OK is collaborating with Triangle Film Company, the makers of Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev to launch The Adventures of Hatim. Now here’s something new on the project!!! Pooja Banerjee, who debuted on television (fiction space) with Ek Doosre se Karte Hain Pyar Hum, has been roped in to play the lead female protagonist Perizaad in the show. Let’s talk to the Nagpur born actress to know more about the character she plays. The actress is of the opinion that Perizaad is a female who is extremely intelligent and is very strong both mentally and physically. Avers Pooja, “Well, a character like Perizaad has never been seen on Indian Television before. I essay this character who is a rough and tough girl. So much so, that she is the toughest character that the television space has ever seen. I quite relate to the character; am a very strong person, be it physically and mentally in real life too.” Talking about her challenging role she went on to say, “When I first heard the concept I was mesmerized because here was a chance to do something out of the box, when every other actor is ready to do normal saas-bahu drama. Hence I took it up. I face challenges keeping up with the energy levels of the cast. I am the only woman in the cast and it is difficult to keep up with my male counterparts. While shooting, I consume almost three bottles of glucose a day. But in the end, the result of my performance motivates me a lot.” Way to go Pooja!!!
