One of the contestants of Indian Idol 1 Prajakta Shukre has been keeping a low profile all these years. She was last seen in a television series called Rihahee. We wondered what this Marathi mulgi is up to so we decided to call her up. Its good news for her fans as Prajakta will soon be seen on another television show.
“Talks are in the very initial stages. I can’t reveal anything about it now but yes the show will be for a new channel which is yet to be launched,” says Prajakta.
“Definitely it’s not going to be a fiction show but something only related to singing. I don’t want to act but grow in my field of singing. I would love to anchor a musical venture on television and am planning along those lines. Besides that stage performances are always there,” she adds.
Recently Prajakta has launched an album with Leslie Louis. “It was called Dhakka. The album was a mixture of Hindi and Marathi songs composed by Lesliji. I had a great experience and a dream to come up with my own solo album,” she chirps.
When are you planning to come up with your own album? “It’s going to take a while as I think I need to learn more in singing. May be two to three years down the line; I’m not at all in a hurry. The day when I feel I’m ready for my own album I will let the world know about it,” she chirps.
Coming to her personal life, Prajakta says, “It will be too early to talk about marriage as I’m just 20. Currently I want to concentrate on my career and marriage will only take place after five years. Definitely as the trend goes I would be keen on going for a love marriage. My parents are not against it but they would love it if I find a Maharashtrian Brahmin guy. I don’t mind any caste but just that he should be listener if not a singer,” she laughs.
Are all the Maharashtrian guys listening?
