Bringing together talent that goes beyond the ordinary, Colors launches India’s Got Talent season 5. Produced by FremantleMedia India, the talent will step away from the norms of conventional entertainment to etch their names in the pages of history. Judged by an esteemed jury panel comprising of the impeccable Kirron Kher, director par excellence Karan Johar and the elegant diva Malaika Arora Khan, the show will premiere on 11 January, 2014 and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 pm on Colors. Bolder, and more spectacular than ever before, talents will defy the dimensions of a stage through acrobatic, aquatic, circus acts apart from the talent that brings alive the diversity of India. From pole dancing gigs to basketball stunts, para-gliders to synchronized swimmers, fire jumpers to diffusive neon paintings, India’s Got Talent will showcase a wide variety of talent pool from the age of 3 to 80 on one common stage. The show will also give those with innovations an opportunity to exhibit their creations. The newest entry to the India’s Got Talent format is the Golden Buzzer that provides phenomenal talent with a direct entry to the semi-finals by the esteemed judges. This season of India’s Got Talent will be hosted by the comic duo – the affable Bharti Singh and the quick-witted Mantra who will be seen together in different avatars every week and leave audiences in splits. Speaking at the launch of the show, Manisha Sharma, Weekend Programming Head – Colors, said, “Over the seasons, India’s Got Talent has grown to explore territories in search of the finest talent that speaks of sheer hard work and caliber. This season, we take our search one step forward as we open doors to people who have taken their talent a level higher in terms of creativity and innovation by experimenting with performances on water and circus. To identify and welcome extra-ordinary talent, we have introduced the Golden Buzzer which motivates talent to push their boundaries with a direct entry to the Semi-Finals as their reward.” “With India’s Got Talent, we look forward to adding drama to the weekend entertainment with some daring, innovative, spectacular and nail-biting performances that will appeal to both young and old.” she added. As the hard-to-please judge this season, blockbuster director Karan Johar said, “For me talent needs to inspire but also shake up the pre-conceived notions of excellence. Whether its dance, singing or any other creative act – I will look for a talent that enthralls and entertains me. This season, I am looking forward to pushing the judging parameters a notch higher to ensure that the contestants bring their absolute best at all times.” Back to judge the show for the fifth season in a row, Kirron Kher, shared, “I eagerly await a new season of India’s Got Talent because every year, the caliber of the contestants and their talent seems to grow in terms of innovation, awe and sheer stage value. It is endearing to see that so many unique talents reside within our nation and I enjoy it the most when the arts of India take to the stage to showcase the diversity of our culture.” Speaking about her first complete season of India’s Got Talent, Malaika Arora Khan said, “I find immense pride in being associated with India’s Got Talent because of its legacy of bringing forth the most outstanding talent that puts India on the global map. The show has moved beyond the stage while venturing into different areas including the outdoors, water and even a circus. This season of India’s Got Talent aims to enthrall viewers through unadulterated content with breathtaking, creative, bizarre and unique acts that will etch the participants’ names in the pages of Indian history. And with a grand stage awaiting them all, the only things that could hold the contestants back are the dreaded buzzers of the judges!
