Ritu Choudhary who was last seen in Meri Aawaaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni is on a sabbatical. She had bagged the show after a year long break and to her misfortune it was suddenly pulled off air. Now Ritu is relaxing and focusing on herself. But more than anything she is waiting for a different role to come her way. “I want to play a negative role in a show. Now Ritu is relaxing and focusing on herself. But more than anything she is waiting for a different role to come her way. “I want to play a negative role in a show. I’m bored of playing only good roles and now want to try something different,” says Ritu. “I don’t want to do any rona-dhona on screen now. It’s been enough and I have done it for too long. Currently I am looking after my body and toning it up. Due to the hectic shooting schedules I could not get enough time to concentrate on myself,” she adds. But why do you want to do a negative role? “There is not much masala in a positive role. When you play a villain there are many shades to it and hence you can emote well,” she says. Will you then not be at risk at being branded? “I’ll be more than happy. People think I’m too sweet to be bad. This is what I want to change. I accepted Meri Aawaaz… as it had different shades. I’m going through some scripts but all are the same. Even earlier I took a long break as I was fed up of playing the same beti or bahu on screen,” she concludes. Be it black, white or grey here is one actor who has her fundas clear.
