Akhil Mishra steps in new show, doesn't quit Uttaran though

Akhil Mishra, currently seen as Umed Singh in Uttaran, has bagged a role in Reliance’s upcoming show on Imagine. Mishra was thinking of leaving Uttaran for many days now, however, the latest news is the Uttaran producers have allowed him to be part of another show but has also talked him out of his decision to quit their show. A source says, “Reliance is coming up with a love story where the boy belongs to a Marathi-speaking family and the girl belongs to a Hindi-speaking one. They have to then face many problems in their life because of their language difference. Akhil will play the role of the boy’s father.” There were rumours about Mohit Chhablani playing a lead in the show, our source denies this and says, “We never approached Mohit, we were looking for a known face and have approached few actors too but they are yet to give their confirmation. Bhavna Khatri is likely to play a lead too. Our team is going to shoot the first promo of the show in this week and then the unit will begin its first schedule. If everything goes well, then the show will go on air by mid-January.” Mohit says, “I haven’t heard of this show and was not approached by anyone. I am only part of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and am not doing any other show at this moment.” Mishra confirmed to be part of this show but refused to give any details. When we asked him about leaving Uttaran, he says, “I have already informed the production house about my new show. I did not wish to continue Uttaran but they convinced me to stay back and promised me that things will soon improve. Since my track is not on right now, I will only shoot as and when required. I am looking forward for the new show, because it is not a clichéd father’s role. It is a very powerful character.”
