Salman Khan’s Jai Ho’s promotional spree saw him hobnobbing with the heavyweight politicians of our country. On one hand, Salman entertained the masses of U P at Akhilesh Yadav's Safai Mahotsav, while on the other, he flew kites with Narendra Modi. While it would be a bit too juvenile to think that the star would get into politics especially at a time when his career is going great guns, people from the industry feel Salman may not make for a good politician.
Balaji's boss Ekta Kapoor for instance, feels a star like Salman is too honest to make for a good politician. "Salman is a common man's man. That is where his power resides. He is too honest to be a politician," said Ekta at her film Main Tera Hero’s trailer launch.
Meanwhile, film's leading man Varun Dhawan said, “Salman is a parallel government himself.”
Well, we don't know about politics but Salman sure is a parallel industry in Bollywood.
