Popular actor and pianist Mark Parakh, who impressed one and all with his impressive performances in shows like Dekha Ek Khwab, Khotey Sikke, Pavitra Rishta and latest in Main Naa Bhoolungi, got married to his girlfriend Kennie Kukreja this weekend at National Sports Club of India in Worli. A three day affair, the marriage was attended by close friends and family and was a complete fun event. The baraat was on 1 February followed by Gurudwara wedding the next day and finally a Parsi wedding and reception on 3 February to complete the ceremonies. Sharing his love story Mark says, “I met her for the first time on 5 June 2011 at an event where she was an emcee and I was to perform. At the event she requested songs from Veer Zara and the song Tere dar pe sanam and I was more than happy playing for this beautiful girl. I really wanted to ask for her number and thus told her that I would need an anchor for my future events and so she obliged.” “That night she messaged me saying she really enjoyed meeting me and then I told her that we should meet on my birthday that was two days later (7 June). She must have thought I was flirting with her and thus didn’t reply. But after going through my Facebook profile she messaged me that we should meet over dinner on my birthday and that was the start. I asked her out on 21 June and then we got engaged after six-seven months and now got married,” adds the gushing groom. The couple had decided to get married mid 2014, but then decided to get hitched early in the year. And honeymoon plans have been postponed for now as Mark is busy with his events, at least till next month. As he avers with a smile, “Once it will start raining here in Mumbai we can just go and enjoy in some exotic locations.” And what about Valentine’s Day plans? “Well, I haven’t been able to think about it since we’ve just got married. Kennie being a Punjabi and me a Parsi, the three day wedding got quite hectic. But yes, I would definitely try to surprise her with something special,” replies Mark.
