Real gold biscuit on Taarak sets gives unit sleepless nights

On women’s day, there will be an episode in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah where Jethalal (Dilip Joshi) will gift gold to his wife, Daya. But, this shiny metal made things difficult for the crew. A source says, “Since women are so fond of gold, Jethalal has decided to gift his wife Daya a 100 grams gold biscuit to make her happy. However, things turned out different on the sets when producer Asit Kumar Modi decided to bring in a real 100 gram gold biscuit on location to keep it authentic. The unit was on tenterhooks trying to keep it safe and sound. The unit had to up their security because the scene required Daya to roam around with the gold biscuit asking everyone if it belongs to them as she is not aware that Jetha has brought it for her only and had hidden it away to give her on Women’s Day. Talking about the track, Joshi says, “Naturally, Daya is going to love it. In any case, she loves everything her husband gives her. She is a smart but simple housewife.” Modi said, “Women’s Day is the day to celebrate the spirit of womanhood, and on this special occasion, Jethalal gifts Daya a gold biscuit. Women love gold and what can be a better gift. To shoot this special episode, I brought a real gold biscuit to make it more genuine. Since this biscuit weighs 100 grams and as gold prices are very high we have a special team which is taking care of that gold biscuit ensuring it’s not misplaced, but this has made everyone very nervous.” Well, well we hope no one munches on this special biscuit!
