If audiences are surprised to see stand-up comedian Sunil Grover show up alongside Prakash Raj and Tiger Shroff for on sequence in Sabbir Khan’s Heropanti it is not as if Sunil has decided to take in walk-on parts after his flop television show (Mad In India on Star Plus).
In fact Grover has for now put an embargo on all his film offers.
Says the actor, “I have accepted only Gabbar with Akshay Kumar and nothing else. I hope this doesn’t sound immodest. But I am getting film offers by the dozens. But nothing that makes me jump out of my skin in excitement.”
Explaining why he took on the cameo in Heropanti Sunil says, “Sajid Nadiadwala is the producer. No one says no to him. He is such a major producer. And I come at an interesting juncture in the story. I am not going to make it a habit to do cameos in big-budget films.”
Sunil is also not going to be seen as Gutthi the female avatar which made him so popular on television.
“I am not doing the Gutthi act in films, no matter what the temptation. The future is uncertain. But I’m not insecure,” says Grover whose comedy show Mad In India had to be wrapped up due to lack of viewership.
