I was little nervous while shooting with Rajinikanth on day one: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha and Rajinikanth
There was never any shortage of South Indian film offers for Sonakshi Sinha ever since she made her film debut. But Miss Shotgun junior chose to bide her time and debut with the right project at the right time. And she has sure hit the bull's eye with Lingaa where she is paired opposite 'God' Rajinikanth for the first time. With this movie, Sonakshi makes her South Indian debut with as much fanfare as she did in Bollywood where she debuted opposite superstar Salman Khan. However Sonakshi says that to debut with superstars is not a conscious decision and things just happened for her both in Bollywood and South India. Talking about her experience of working with Rajinikanth, Sonakshi says, “The popularity of Rajini sir is so much that there were several fans while we were shooting. He is an amazing person and actor. He is a huge superstar but he is very humble man. He talks to everybody nicely.” Sonakshi too was a wee bit nervous and in awe of Rajinikanth on the first day of shoot. “When we were on sets, I went up to Rajini sir and said ‘it is an honour to be working with you but I am nervous’. He said ‘why you should be nervous I should be nervous as you are my friend’s daughter’. That broke the ice. The role too is not that would make me or him feel uncomfortable with each other. It is a very well written role. I am glad to be part of the film. Lingaa is based in two eras, one in present and other in 1940s. I wanted to be part of this magical world,” reveals Sonakshi. The pretty actress is now open to doing roles in southern movie industry and looks forward to be paired opposite Mahesh Babu, Suriya and Ravi Teja whom she finds particularly funny. So what's the major difference between Bollywood and South industry? Says Sonakshi, “I think work happens much quicker in South in terms of speed. The film unit there is much concise and here there are too many people on the sets.” In Bollywood, Sonakshi would next be seen in Holiday along with her favourite co-star Akshay Kumar.
