Controversy queen : Sara Khan

Sara Khan
Sara Khan has been the controversy queen ever since she stepped out of Bigg Boss. In fact she is now more in the news for her controversies rather than her work. First her marriage to beau Ali in the Bigg Boss House, then her split with him and in between all this her proximity to fellow contestant Ashmit Patel (whom she referred to as Pops!), her war with Dolly Bindra and now her ‘walk-out’ from Ram Milaayi Jodi. Also, by now her tantrum throwing is well known. In a free wheeling chat with TellyChakkar the actress clears the air and also offers an insight into the real Sara Khan. In Ram Milaayi Jodi you replaced Priyal Gor so expectations were high. Do you think the audience has accepted you? Initially it was very challenging for me to play this role especially after Sadhana (her character in Bidaai) was loved by the audiences. But personally for me playing Mona was very difficult and the challenge increases when you are replacing another actor. I had confidence in myself and I knew I could do it. I am happy that my audiences have now accepted me as Mona. You consider Rajan Shahi as your mentor; will you do his new show? Rajan Sir has been my mentor and it is because him that I am what I am today. It is because of him I am giving interviews. I have always maintained good relations with him. I know he is coming up with a new show but I am committed to Ram Milaayi Jodi. But if I do get a chance after Ram Milaayi Jodi winds up then I would definitely love to work with him. You have always been mired in controversies. How do you handle them? I believe that if you are the talk of the town then you must be doing well for yourself! If you are true to yourself then such things keep happening. If people are talking bad about me and that I am throwing tantrums on the set then why is it that Rajitaji (Sharma) is not saying anything or why isn’t my director not complaining about me? I know that I am honest and I don’t care who says what about me. So what exactly happened that prompted you to walk out? There was a new director on the set. On the set everyone is respected right from the spot boy to the actors. But I cannot tolerate this disrespectful attitude since I have been in the industry for long now. The new director addressed me “Aye idhar aa”. I respected him but I could not understand why he was using foul language and abuses. This angered me and I spoke to the production people about his attitude. I didn’t like the atmosphere on the sets and so I left. It was not just me but a few other actors who had a problem with him. I wasn’t ready to talk because I thought I would want to apologise to him and sort things out since I realized that I shouldn’t have left the set. But then it was a clash of egos and things just worsened. Don’t you think that Bigg Boss tarnished your image? I did Bigg Boss just for the experience. When I came out I realized that the world had a different opinion about me. But I feel that I have grown as a person and I took everything positively. I know God is with me. Are you in touch with the contestants? Yes I am in touch with Ashmit (Patel), Khali, Hrishant, Samir Soni. Shweta Di (Tiwari) and even Manoj Tiwari. I am in touch with Pam (Pamela Anderson) through mails. What about Dolly Bindra? Oh please! I am not in touch with her and don’t even want to be in touch with her. I don’t want to hear abusive language again! What went wrong with you and Ali? I don’t want to talk about it. I really didn’t want it to happen this way but circumstances forced things to go wrong. How is your equation with Parul Chauhan? Very nice. We are best of friends and till date it has been awesome. We still meet and hang out. So who are your friends in the industry? I don’t have many friends in the industry but Krystle (DSouza) and Abu (Abhinav Kapoor) are my good friends. Any more reality shows? I am not planning anything yet, only if something interesting is offered then only will I accept it.
