Born on 14th March 1949, to the native family of New Delhi. Farida Jalal started her career early in 1960s, when she won Filmfare's United Film Producers Talent Hunt competition. She marked her debut with 'Yeh Raaste Hain Pyar Ke' in the year 1963. Late then, she was young and was known by the name, Baby Farida. More than hundred films on to the credit of this versatile actress.
Though Farida never rose to fame as a lead actress, she was mainly beat-known in her supporting roles of a sister to the male lead. One of her most critically acclaimed act was of Rishi Kapoor's mentally disabled fiancee, Nikki in the film 'Bobby'. Also, she is fondly remembered in the romantic track, "Bagon me bahar hai, kaliyon pe nikhar hai" of 'Aradhana', pictured on her and Rajesh Khanna.
