MUMBAI : On August 8, in front of their families, actors Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got engaged in a small ceremony in Hyderabad. One day after Naga Chaitanya's father declared their relationship official, the couple surprised their fans on Friday with pictures from their engagement. The seasoned actor has now disclosed the reason for Sobhita and Naga Chaitanya's secret engagement as well as their future marriage intentions.
Opening up about the ceremony in Hyderabad, Nagarjuna said, “It went very very well. Only the immediate family was there... Sobhita's parents and sister. Chay's mother was there, of course. My wife, Amala, was there. That's it. We chose this day because it is very auspicious. Both families consulted the Nakshatras, and when we were told August 8 was a very auspicious day, we decided to go ahead with it.”
He added, “Chay has found happiness again. He is very happy. So am I. Sobhita and Chay make a wonderful couple. They love each other dearly.”
Rumors about their romance gained traction since the couple was frequently sighted on vacation together. A brand-new image of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita vacationing in Europe became viral online in June 2024. They were reportedly in Europe to commemorate the latter's May 31 32nd birthday.
A picture of Naga Chaitanya standing at a restaurant in 2023 with chef Surender Mohan went viral, but the real star of the picture was Sobhita, who was seated at a table in the background and nearly covered her face with her hands.
