Now, in an exclusive segment 'Magic with GiGi', anchor, actor and scriptwriter Gayatri Gauri got in touch with Nithya Menen and asked if it difficult for female actors to receive roles out the ordinary as compared to their male counterparts.
Nithya Menen said, “Honestly speaking, I think it’s not a gender thing at all...when good films are being made, obviously the world has 2 genders. So it has to be there in a film you have to have a woman and a man. You can’t not have one gender, right? So it’s not a gender thing it’s just... are good films being made? What is the trend right now? That is what matters. I don’t think in a commercial film, even men have a great many things that are beautiful. They may have more screen-space but it’s still very stereotyped.”
This was our conversation with Nithya Menen after she received National Award for her role in Thiruchitrambalam.
