Amole Gupte
As the new chairperson of the Children’s Film Society Of India (CFSI) Amole Gupte will fight for an alternative distribution system for children’s films. Rather than focus on individual family units’ participation in visiting movie theatres Amole would like children’s films to be screened directly for school children.
He would also be putting forth a proposal to include cinema as a subject in the school syllabi.

Amole Gupte has been chosen as the chairperson of the Children's Film Society of India (CFSI), according to the I & B Ministry. He replaces Nandita Das.
Having met the I&B minister Manish Tiwary and accepted the offer earlier, Gupte received the official letter just yesterday.
With an experience in children's film (including Taare Zameen Par and his own directorial Stanley Ka Dabba), Gupte sees the new responsibility as an extension of his work.

Surreptitiously, Amole Gupte the painter-thinker-actor-activist-filmmaker who started his career as a movie-maker on an ambivalent note with Taare Zameen Par (what with all the credit for the movie going to its producer Aamir Khan) and who consolidated his position as an independent filmmaker with Stanley Ka Dabba, is back with his third film.
Amole describes it as a “wisdom film”.
