A similar kind of thing happened recently when the trailer of their forthcoming film <em>Ek Thi Daayan</em> was launched at a unique, first-of-its-kind themed event at Mumbai's Film City.

Once Upon a Time in... first Bollywood film to be shot in Oman

Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures recently shot parts of its much-awaited film Once Upon A Time in Mumbai-2 in the Sultanate of Oman. The sequel to the 2010 blockbuster, that has stars like Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre among others, is slated for an 8 August (2013) worldwide release.

Ekta Kapoor to remake Jeetendra, Reena Roy-starrer Naagin

Ekta Kapoor is all set to remake the 1976-made Rajkumar Kohli- directed Jeetendra, Reena Roy-starrer <Em>Naagin</em>. It is learnt that Balaji Motion Pictures has almost finalized buying the rights from Kohli who also produced the original film. As of now, the production house is busy checking whether any filmmaker has registered the title <em>Naagin</em>.

Balaji ventures into film distribution

The house of Balaji has come a long way. From being a television series production house, Balaji Telefilms, it diverted into making films with the setting up of Balaji Motion Pictures. And now, with consecutive film successes in Love Sex Aur Dhokha, Taryanche Bait, Shor In The City, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai and The Dirty Picture, company head honcho Ekta Kapoor has decided to set up a distribution wing.

The Dirty Picture to screen in France

The team of Balaji Motion Pictures is excited that their biggest cult release of 2011, The Dirty Picture, will now screen in France. Initially, it will have a major art-house release in te picturesque city on 4 July. The film, embedded with French subtitles, will show on three screens in Paris and one in Orleans. After its initial run, the film will travel to smaller towns in France and suburbs of Paris, further releasing in all major art-house cinemas in the country.
