Eating Out With Stars

Hearty conversation with Pariva Pranati at Lemon Grass

Click on the pic to view slideshow Lemon Grass, the oriental restaurant in Malad, has recently introduced Indian dishes, so when the enterprising Directors Deepti and Subhash Menon invited me to taste the new menu set up by celebrity Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, I just couldn’t resist. And I felt it would make for a more interesting afternoon if I had with me Pariva Pranati, the TV actor who has recently debuted in filmdom with Reema Kagti and Aamir Khan’s Talaash.

Chinese whispers with Pooja Bedi at Sampan

Click on the pic to view slideshow Call her a single mother/socialite/columnist/actor or reality TV show participant but my guest for the day, Pooja Bedi is undoubtedly a warm and friendly person to know. I have met and interacted with her on several occasions earlier but in the course of my Eating Out column I got to know much more and believe me, every aspect about the agony aunt is positive and touching.

At a height of 6’1” with a lean figure, he reminded me of a young and more handsome version of Amitabh Bachchan.

Pon-poing with Vikas Bhalla

Click on the pic to view slideshow While I was waiting for Vikas Bhalla, Veer of Uttaran serial, at the newly opened sub joint Quiznos at Pali Naka, Bandra, I took in the décor of the quaint eatery – four tables outside the entrance, a glass door leads to the American chain of eatery and its brightly lit interiors reveal the food counters. A flight of steps lead to the mezzanine which has tables for indoor eating. They serve sandwiches, salads, sammies, pizzas and other bites.

Candid chat over coffee with beautiful Rukhsar Rehman

Click on the pic to view slideshow How often does one come across a person from the glamour world who can genuinely talk and be concerned about the thinning fabric of our society, political disorder, flagging infrastructure or pretentious women’s rights organizations? I met one such actor who is into films as well as television and she is Rukhsar Rahman.
