Film Review: Dabangg 2

Starring Salman Khan, Salman Khan, Salman Khan, Salman Khan Directed by Arbaaz Khan Rating: *** ? For those who thought Chulbul Pandey in Abinav Kashyap’s Dabangg was whacky and fun only because Salman Khan played him, here is more spoof-proof in the sequel of how Salman adopts embraces and assimilates the characters he plays until one can’t tell the star apart from the character.

Film Review : Khiladi 786

Starring Akshay Kumar, Asin,Mithun Chakraborty, Himesh Reshammiya,Raj Babbar,Rahul Singh Directed by Ashish R Mohan Rating: *** What can be said about a film where a couple named Mili and Bhagat conspire to bring their employer’s empire down? Mili? Bhagat? Get it? Khiladi 786 is the kind comic orgy done in shades of green orange and pink which doesn’t require us to strain our brain . The kicks and grunts, guffaws and chortles, the antics raillery and tomfoolery flow out unstoppered like an uncapped toothpaste tube.

Film Review: Chakravyuh

Starring: Arjun Rampal, Abhay Deol, Anjali Patil, Esha Gupta, Om Puri, Manoj Bajpai Directed by Prakash Jha Ratings: **** Becket beckons Bollywood once again. The immortal French play by Jean Anouilh was furnished a sensitive renewability by Hrishikesh Mukherjee in Namak Haraam 38 years ago and then again much later by Govind Nihalani in Dev. Now the stories of two friends separated by caste creed and ideology who are torn apart by their irreconcilable socio-political differences, is given a seriously spunky spin by Prakash Jha.

Film Review: Student Of The Year

Starring: Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Rishi Kapoor, Ronit Roy Directed by Karan Johar Rating: **** It takes guts to make such a spectacular-looking film with three newcomers. When you add glamour to guts, what you get is a sumptuous eye-candy feast that provides a fulsome vicarious designer-thrill without losing hold of the plot’s emotional core.

Film Review: Makkhi

Starring Sudeep, Samanth Ruth Prabhu, Nani Written & Directed by S S Rajamouli Rating: *** ? This is a love triangle with a twist. It’s a the story of a man, woman and…a fly! By now we’ve all heard of Rajamouli’s Eega cracking box office records in Tamil. The Hindi version comes to us with a tremendous pre-release expectations. Shall we just saw, we were Eega to see this film?

Only imperfect human beings like you and I, who make that common error of taking loved ones for granted.
