Actor-dancer Shantanu Maheshwari opens up about his experience playing Afsaan in 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' as the film marks its two-year anniversary.

The Kapoors were expecting the speedy construction of their family home so that Alia and Ranbir's 'Graha Pravesh' could happen in it. Alia is currently on a promotional spree for her upcoming film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'. During the promotions, she is often quizzed about her boyfriend and the bond she shares with him.

The film narrates the story of a woman named Gangubai, who becomes a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura. It is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' written by S. Hussain Zaidi.

'Dholida', is a celebratory garba number from the film that will see Alia as Gangubai dancing to the tunes of dhol. Unlike SLB's other opulent and grand sets, this one is set in the backdrop of a busy lane in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai city.
