Gunday releasing on Valentine's Day

YRF’s Gunday, Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and Produced by Aditya Chopra, is slated to release on 14 February 2014. The film stars Ranveer Singh & Arjun Kapoor, as Bikram and Bala, along with Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan Khan, in lead roles. Based in Calcutta during its most unsettled times in the ‘70’s, the film deals with the inseparable life of Bikram and Bala, who grew from being small time, inconsequential coal thieves, to becoming the most powerful black marketing mafia-men. A story of two happy-go-lucky renegades who came to be known as – <em>Gunday</em>.

'My current role is always the one closest to my heart'- Saurabh Shukla

We had earlier reported about Saurabh Shukla shooting for Yash Raj’s film Gunday in Kolkata in which he is playing a lawyer. Interestingly, his upcoming movie <em>Jolly LLB</em> also has a law angle wherein he plays a judge. This film which has been directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by 20th Century Fox is a satire on the judiciary system, and also stars Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi.

Second schedule of YRF's Gunday starts in Kolkata

Yash Raj Films’ Gunday has started its next schedule in Kolkata. YRF’s <em>Gunday</em> team recreated a ‘80s Calcutta’ and shot a dramatic Durga Puja sequence under the Howrah Bridge bringing Kolkata to a standstill. A crowd of over 1000 ecstatic and overjoyed people could be heard chanting “Joy Bikram! Joy Bala!” As a matter of fact, the city of Joy is revelling in friendship between Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, both on screen and off screen.

Priyanka Chopra added to the cast of YRF's Gunday

Priyanka Chopra has joined the cast of Yash Raj Films’ Gunday as the leading lady and will play a pivotal role in the film. Amidst the most turbulent times in the history of Kolkata, then Calcutta, from 1971 to1988, Bikram and Bala rose from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to becoming the biggest and most powerful black marketing mafia-men.
