Akshay Kumar begins New Year with shooting for Hindi remake of Tamil Hit

The year 2012 was indeed very good for Akshay Kumar, with all his released films like <em>Housefull 2, Rowdy Rathore, Oh My God</em> and <em>Khiladi 786</em> doing exceedingly well at the box office except for Farah Khan’s <em>Joker</em>. With a bountiful year behind him, the star has started shooting for the Hindi remake of Tamil action thriller <em>Thuppakki</em> that will have Sonakshi Sinha as his co-star. Tweeted Akshay, "Started shooting my first film in the New Year, the Hindi remake of <em>Thuppakki</em>! Would love to get your good wishes today."

Riteish Deshmukh plans Hindi remake of his Balak Palak

Emboldened by the response of his Marathi film Balak Palak on the very first day of its release, debutant producer Riteish Deshmukh has revealed that he is mulling to remake the film in Hindi. Observed Riteish, "The kind of feedback we have got, I think we will be looking forward to making this film in Hindi.” The film talks about curiosity about sex among adolescents.

Ekta Kapoor bags Hindi remake rights of Telugu film Kandireega

After her last film Dirty Picture turned out to be a smash hit, a gung ho Ekta Kapoor is bent on churning out films in plenty. So much so that Balaji Motion Pictures has chalked out as many as six films like <em>Ek Thi Daayan, Shootout At Wadala, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again</em> and <em>Ragini MMS 2<em> to be released next year. Ekta has recently bagged the Hindi remake rights of the Telugu film <em>Kandireega</em> that was immensely successful. The film starred Ram, Hansika and Aksha among others.

Hrithik, Katrina in Knight And Day remake

After Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif will be seen together again in Siddharth Anand’s Hindi remake of Hollywood film <em>Knight and Day</em> that had Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz as leads. Fox Star Studios, India has decided to remake the film in Hindi with new twists and a whole different storyline, it is understood. Confirming the same, Fox Star Studios, Head of Distribution -- marketing and syndication, Vivek Krishnani said, “We are making that film in Hindi. I can't talk much about the project as it is too early.”
