It is official now-Jay Soni has been selected to play the male lead in the serial Sasural Genda Phool. Confirming this for the first time to the media, Soni says, "Yes, I have signed up for the lead role. We have started shooting and it has been a great experience so far." <em>Sasural Genda Phool</em>, as we had reported earlier, is a remake of the Bengali serial <em>Ogo Badhu Sundari</em> (Star Jalsha).

Jay Soni is going back to school. Well, that’s only in reel life. The actor, who is currently seen in 9X’s <em> Remote Control </em>, has been roped in to play the lead in NDTV Imagine’s’ upcoming show <em>Bali Umar Ko Salaam</em>.

Hats Off Productions brings <em> Remote Control</em> on 9X. It’s a story of a middle class family and their simple life. They are very happy and content with life until the time a TV enters their home. “The title of the show revolves around the story. With the ever growing number of channels we get restless and demand for more. It has a philosophy which suggests that you want more than one thing in your life. Life too is similar to television sets. We always expect more from life,” says the producer J D Majethia.
