In an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar, director Siddharth P. Malhotra was asked why he chose Junaid Khan and why he chose to release the movie on OTT platform instead of theatres as this is Junaid Khan’s debut.

Yash Raj Films Entertainment produced a movie which is helmed by Siddharth P Malhotra and also it is a debut film of Junaid Khan named ‘Maharaj’ faced a lot of controversies before its streaming on Netflix as the Gujarat high court temporarily halted the film’s distribution.

After viewing the movie, the court declared that it included no objectionable or disparaging content and approved its publication on Netflix.

The Gujarat high court on Friday lifted its temporary stay on the release of the film, ‘Maharaj’ by streaming giant Netflix, holding that the film Maharaj was based on events that to the 1862 Maharaj Libel Case and was not targeted on hurting the sentiments of any community.
