Since her debut in Dabangg in 2010, Sonakshi Sinha has been a part of some of the industry's biggest blockbusters featuring superstars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn. But for the first time, she has been featured opposite Ranveer Singh, a much younger actor in Vikramaditya Motwane’s forthcoming film <em>Lootera</em>. Said a source, "Sonakshi has a brilliant role in the film and her stellar performance is bound to bag awards. She is at par with Ranveer in terms of screen time and performance and knows that this film can take her career to an even higher level."

Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd. (BMPL) has announced its slate of six film releases in the upcoming year (2013). The line-up boasts of projects including co-productions with filmmakers like Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap and Sanjay Gupta alongside sequels of Balaji’s own properties such as <em>Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai</em> and <em>Ragini MMS</em>.

Dharma Productions’ Ayan Mukerji-directed film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone was originally slated for release on 29 March (2013). However, Karan Johar has now decided to postpone the release date to 31 May. The reason is that Karan doesn’t want a clash with good friend Ekta Kapoor whose <em>Lootera</em> is scheduled to hit theatres on the same day. As is known that it is not a good idea to release two big films on the same day; one eats into the other’s business and importantly, the audience gets divided.

Sonakshi Sinha’s on-screen love story with Ranveer Singh in Lootera is now complete or almost complete. The love story, based on a O’Henry short-story, was shot entirely in artificial snow as the real snows of Kashmir proved to be unfriendly for shooting purposes.
