It is often said that India’s strength lies in its diversity. It is diverse, yet is bounded by a common strand of unity. Can’t get the drift? Well, take into account the day of 14 April. It was the day which marked the beginning of the harvesting season across large parts of India. If the boisterous Punjabi farmers celebrated it as Baisakhi, for our Bengali friends, the day marked the beginning of their new year, Poila Baisakh, wherein they wished each other Subho Nababarsho.
