Sequel fever grips Bollywood

The season of sequels is upon us. Besides the sequel to ABCD we have Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroop which is already 10 percent complete and Neeraj Pandey’s <em>Special Chabbis</em> 2 which would be launched very shortly. Prabhu Deva who now has the unequalled track record of being a superstar choreographer, dancer, filmmaker and actor in Tamil and Hindi, is torn between directing his next film <em>Rambo Rajkumar</em> with Shahid Kapoor and working on the sequel to the new dance film ABCD.

Menon, who once was a formidable actor, hams it to the hilt as a kind of Mogambo of the dancing world who thinks dancing is for big bucks, and also for big... well you know the ‘f’ word that rhymes with bucks.

It’s Akshay Kumar versus Prabhu Deva in the box office battle this Friday

After Kamal Haasan’s bravura Kathak in Vishwaroop, it’s time for some serious freestyle Western dancing at the box office. After a dismal week at the box office when nothing worked except Kamal Haasan’s kickass stunts in <em>Vishwaroop</em>, we look at the coming Friday with renewed hope. The two films up for release this week are mainstream entertainers, but those that bend the conventional rules of entertainment.

Salman Khan to again team up with Prabhu Deva for Tips’ film

With both Anees Bazmee and Sooraj Barjatya’s film getting postponed to the next year, Salman Khan has now opted for a film to be produced by Tips Industries. Confirming the same, Ramesh Taurani said, “We are indeed starting a film starring Salman Khan by end of this year." The film will be directed by Prabhu Deva who had earlier teamed up with Salman in <em>Wanted</em>. With this film, the <em>Dabangg</em> has completed the three film tally that he has earmarked for 2013. They are Sohail Khan's <em>Mental</em>, Sajid Nadiadwala's <em>Kick</em> and Prabhu Deva's next.

Prabhu Deva casts Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone for next

Changing tracks for the first time, Prabhu Deva, who made a name by directing remakes in Salman Khan’s <em>Wanted</em> and Akshay Kumar’s <em>Rowdy Rathore</em>, is now all set to direct an original action comedy with Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone. Prabhu Deva, who is known for his unusual pairing that was seen with the pairing of Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia in <em>Wanted</em> and Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in <em>Rowdy Rathore</em>, chose Ajay Devgn and Deepika Padukone, because the hero in the film will be a hardcore character while the heroine will be a soft and emotional one.

Prabhu Deva's Shahid Kapoor film titled Rambo Rajkumar

It is already known that that Shahid Kapoor has been signed for a film with Prabhu Deva at the helm. But there were much speculation about the title of the upcoming film. Earlier, reports had suggested that the film has been titled <em>Namak</em>, but actor, director Prabhu Deva has quashed these as saying, “I don’t know how this name came about. But this is not the film’s title.” He goes on to add that since the film’s subject is for the masses, the name will reflect that too. The filmmaker finally seems to have zeroed in on <em>Rambo Rajkumar</em> that has a mass appeal to it.

Prabhu Deva is fast finishing third venture Ramaiya Vastavaiya

Having garnered a name for himself with two of his initial films- Salman Khan’s <em>Wanted</em> and Akshay Kumar’s <em>Rowdy Rathore,</em> Prabhu Deva has been signed by Tips Industries Limited and Kumar Taurani for his next <em>Ramaiya Vastavaiya.</em> Apparently, the Tauranis had signed on Prabhu immediately post the success of <em>Wanted</em> for a different film. However, after Prabhu narrated the musical love story to them and said that he was keen on directing it, did the producer change his mind.

Vinod Khanna's "accommodating" act for Randhir Kapoor

When they worked together as hero and villain 38 years ago in the blockbuster Haath Ki Safaai, Randhir Kapoor and Vinod Khanna barely exchanged pleasantries on the sets. Salman Khan, Prabhu Deva for Tips' next

Having already proven themselves to be a hit team with the action-masala entertainer Wanted, Salman Khan and choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva are to team up again for a South film remake to be produced by Tips Industries Ltd. Confirming the same producer Kumar Taurani revealed, “Indeed, we are doing a film with Salman in the lead that will be directed by Prabhu Deva. I can't talk about the subject right now. We are still working on it. We will talk about it once everything falls in place. Wait for the announcement.”

Prabhu Deva - Sonkashi in true Janmashtami spirit

Recently, India’s most accomplished male dancer Prabhu Deva shot a Janmashtami dahi handi breaking song for Akshay Kumar’s <em>Oh My God</em>. Accompanying the magical dancer was Sonakshi Sinha who's rapidly emerging as one of the better female dancers in the industry. Says Prabhu, “Sonakshi dances really well. She has great timing and wonderful grace. The last time I enjoyed keeping pace with someone so much was Madhuri Dixit when we did the <em>Que Sera Sera</em> number in <em>Pukar</em>.”
