Ranbir and Prachi have their moment of silent awkwardness when they both recall their past birthday celebration which used to be full of love.

Kaya's develops feelings for Ranbir, which Ranbir has no idea about. Ranbir attempts to make Prachi come back. Also, he is focussing on adopting Khushi, as both Prachi and Ranbir find shadow of their allegedly demised daughter in her.

Laali’s lover Balveer kidnaps Ranbir and beats him up ruthlessly. Prachi already senses some danger, when Khushi calls her and informs her about everything. Prachi is unable to leave Ranbir in danger.

Khushi is saved from her abusive drunkard father by Ranbir. This puts an end to the pain suffered by her due to her Mai's boyfriend. Ranbir not only stops his hands when he tries to beat Khushi, but also gives him a good blow of punches.

Akshay and Ranbir have become friends and Akshay explains to Ranbir about him developing a soft corner for a girl. Ranbir demotivates him from pursuing the girl any further, as he has assumes the girl to be Prachi herself.

Ranbir decides to adopt Khushi as he sees Panchi in her. Further, Balveer creates huge chaos. The situation worsens when Balveer threatens to hurt Khushi and this enrages Ranbir to the core.

Akshay falls in love with Prachi and decides to propose to her. Meanwhile, Ranbir gets accused of beating Khushi and the latter asks Prachi for the help. Interestingly, when Prachi gets Ranbir out on bail, the truth comes out in front of Akshay.

Ranbir is arrested in the charges of beating Khushi. Khushi is all helpless and calls Prachi to free Ranbir from jail. Khushi knows that Ranbir is innocent and hence, Prachi comes to help Ranbir get out of the jail.

Akshay is deeply in love with Prachi and seeks Ranbir's opinion. Ranbir does not like Akshay approaching Prachi and feels that Prachi will not reciprocate his feelings. Akshay does not like Ranbir's judgement.

Ranbir and Prachi are planning to adopt Khushi, who adores both of them. To add drama to their lives, Kaya is madly falling in love with Ranbir. When Kaya gives the first project to Ranbir to handle, Ranbir gets so happy that he hugs Kaya tightly.
