Sarfira, starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Madan, and Paresh Rawal, is an official remake of Suriya's modern Tamil classic, Soorarai Pottru. Sudha Kongara once again steps in to assume direction and writing duties.

It is worth noting that Sarfira is a Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, a 2020 movie starring Suriya. While the south movie was directed by Sudha Kongara, the Hindi remake is directed by her as well.
