Renuka Shahane who was recently seen shaking a leg on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is the daughter of noted writer Shanta Gokhale. Renuka made her directorial debut with a film titled Rita which was adapted from her mother's novel, Rita Welingkar. Renuka also acted in the film wherein she played the pivotal role of a friend, guide and philosopher of Rita, the protagonist.

Actress Renuka Sahane who people still remember as the Surabhi girl with the million dollar smile is married to actor Ashutosh Rana and they live happily with two sons.
