Review - Sony TV's Chhanchhan

Saas bahu still sells on TV, and there is no doubt about it!! Creatives keep churning interesting saas-bahu sagas which speak of the tyrannical behaviour of the saas and their demure bahus. Sony TV’s Chhanchan (Optimystix) speaks about the to-be-modern bride Chhanchhan (Sanaya Irani) who will boldly oppose her irate and orthodox saas Uma Ben Borasagar (Supriya Pathak) whenever she does something wrong.

Review of Life OK's Ek Thhi Naayka

Ekta Kapoor (Balaji Telefilms) nicely blended supernaturalism and reality in the first story of the eight part series of Life OK’s Ek Thhi Naayka. The first episode primarily conveyed the positive social message that if anyone resorts to evil black magic to gain good luck and benefit, then their family members should take a firm stand against the act and even duly report it to the police if necessary.

Saraswatichandra Review: SLB fails to impress in the first episode

Saraswatichandra hit the screens last night amidst lot of expectations and hullaballoo. And why not? After all… it is ”THE” Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious plunge in the world of Indian television. Now, SLB is known for making movies which are grand in scale and canvas. He is someone who would not shy away from holding a paintbrush to add a touch or two to add extra finesse to a piece of Michelangelo or Leonardo Da Vinci.

Review: Sahara One's Ghar Aaja Pardesi

Indian television is evolving. There was a time when viewers wanted to see demure traditional heroines on TV sans Westernisation. However it seems that the trend has changed now and viewers like to see female protagonists having an East-West blend. Ghar Aaja Pardesi (Sai Baba Telefilms) on Sahara One aims at merging the two poles of Westernisation and traditional Indianisation.
