After a lackluster debut at the box office, Jyotika quickly made a splash in southern cinema. Before making her return to Bollywood with "Shaitaan," she had been away for more than 25 years. As of right now, Jyotika told the popular news portal that no Bollywood producer has contacted her in all these years.

According to him, nobody was keen on playing the movie's lead female character. He said they had originally intended to cast Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead role, but Kangana Ranaut was eventually recommended. Shailesh stated that he had been friends with the film's director, Aanand L Rai, since their days working in television.

Shaitaan is presented by Jio Studios, Ajay Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios International, and is produced by Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. On March 8, 2024, Shaitaan premiered in theaters in the time of Maha Shivaratri.
