'Rising Star' winner to sing for Bhatt's next

The very talented Shankar Mahadevan is all kicked to judge the new season of Zee TV’s <em>Sa Re Ga Ma Pa</em> (produced by Esselvision). He is also looking forward to this year’s franchise of the singing reality show as it is different from the previous ones in many ways. The other judges include Sajid-Wajid and Indian Ocean band member, Rahul Ram.

Himesh Reshammiya’s team was fully geared for this match considering it was the decider of his fate in Music Ka Maha Muqquabla but once again destiny favoured him as he beat his tough competitor Shankar Mahadevan. A source from the show says, “It was a thrilling match. Himesh’s team played two matches so far and unfortunately lost. On the other hand Shankar’s team is always considered a very strong team, as they won all matches against other captains. But Himesh’s Warriors were in full swing this time and they gave some good performances.”

Only yesterday we read a report in a popular Mumbai tabloid about singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya quoting an exhorbitant amount reportedly close to eight crores for 20 episodes of a music based reality show on Star Plus. The channel reportedly obliged. But now there is a buzz that singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan has asked for an even higher amount than Reshammiya.

The yet-to-be-launched GEC NDTV Imagine has roped in musician Shankar Mahadevan and creative whiz, lyricist Prasosn Joshi as judges for their musical extravaganza <em> Dhoom Mach De.</em> The jury members along with the votes of the entire nation will adjudge the winner in the ultimate competition to uncover the country's "Best LIVE Performer".
