Shatrughan Sinha shares his feelings on Pran winning the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. “I'd say the honour is too late too little too delayed but thoroughly deserving for an incomparable actor who is also a kind and helpful human being. <em>Der aaye par durust aaye</em>. Better late than never and I’d like to add better never than ‘late’. What is the point of honouring the dead? We’re fortunate to have Pran Saab with us and that he got the Dadasaheb Phalke award during his lifetime.“

Shatrughan Sinha is all set to launch his son Luv once again. The film to be directed by Umesh Shukla of <em>OMG: Oh My God! </em> Fame, will also have Luv’s real-life sister Sonakshi Sinha reprising the role of his reel sister. It is said that after Luv’s debut film <em>Saadiyaan</em> nosedived, Shatrughan decided to make a film himself than let anyone else re-launch him. Now that the respectable theatre actor and director Umesh is on board, he is designing the re-launch film.”

The irrepressible Shatrughan Sinha has stood by Sanjay Dutt for the last 20 years of the latter’s struggle for freedom. And now even though Sinha’s parent-party the BJP stands by the honorable Supreme Court’s decision to send Dutt back to jail, Sinha is all for leniency towards Dutt.

After a bout of ill-health and hospitalization Shatrughan Sinha is back in full form. The sabbatical from screen has ceased. Shatruji whose last release was Ram Gopal Varma’s <em>Rakta Charitra</em> in 2008 has quietly been shooting for a film entitled <em>Woh Aadmi Bahut Kuch Janta Hai</em>. While details of the film being directed by Ahsan Hyder are being kept completely under wraps one came to know that Hyder’s film is a suspense thriller shot in Sri Lanka. Rajeev Khandelwal plays the other male lead.

They were a hit jodi in Kalicharan, Vishwanath and a host of other films, and they were also a real-life couple before Shatrughan Sinha married Punam Sinha. Shatrughan Sinha, 10 kilos lighter after his surgery, bumped into his very old friend Reena Roy last week at common friend Pahlaj Nihalani’s son’s wedding. The two had not met for over 15 years. And according to common friends the lady had put on so much weight that Shatrughan Sinha couldn’t recognize her.

Very shortly, Rajnikant will fly down to Mumbai specially to meet his friend, confidante and self-proclaimed inspiration Shatrughan Sinha. The relations of the two stylized star-actors go back a long way in the period of which they have kept tabs on each other’s health very closely during the period of their respective illnesses.

Though Shatrughan Sinha is back home he is not allowed to meet too many guests or use his phone, let alone step out for anything except a morning walk. And it’s not the doctor’s order. It’s daughter Sonakshi who’s taking time off from her busy schedule to be at home with her father to make sure that her dad continues to maintain the diet and routine that he did in hospital.

After a month and ten days in hospital Shatrughan Sinha is finally going home tomorrow. In fact he would have been home on Friday. But the Janmashthami festivities on the streets of Mumbai kept Shatruji’s travel plans back home on hold. A disappointment for Shatruji’s best friend producer Pahlaj Nihalani who had made grand welcome-home plans for the now- fit-and-fine actor-politician.

12 kilos lighter, many light-years wiser and health-conscious, Shatrughan Sinha is healed and healthy again. Though still in hospital Shatrughan Sinha who was hospitalized with a severe respiratory disorder on 2 July is well on the road to full recovery, and should be out of hospital within a week.
