While Arbaaz Khan’s films Dabangg and its sequel (the first only produced by Arbaaz) reaped a major box office benefit from its two feisty item songs, Arbaaz’s brother Sohail has never been one for planting tantalizing <em>Munnis</em> and <em>Sheilas</em> into his films. None of Sohail’s directorial ventures so far has featured an item song. It therefore comes as no surprise to know that Sohail’s new venture featuring Salman Khan would have no item song.

Sohail Khan’s Salman Khan and Daisy-starrer Mental is all set to take off on 27 February in Dubai. Besides, the film will also mark the debut of Sabarresh, son of action director Vijayan, who himself has been assigned to play the villain in the film. Besides, two times National Award winner Tabu, who was last seen playing a mother to the main protagonist Suraj Sharma in the Oscar nominated <em>Life of Pi</em>, is to play the elder sister of Salman Khan. Interestingly, Tabu and Salman had earlier worked in films like <em>Biwi No. 1, Hum Saath Saath Hain</em> and <em>Jeet</em>.

The curiosity over who will play Salman Khan’s romantic interest in his brother Sohail Khan’s film gets hotter by the day. We now have news coming in that the project has been pushed to March 2013 to enable Sohail a wider elbowroom to select the female lead in his film. Even as rumours of model-Bigg Boss contestant Karishma Kotak being in the film died down comes the news that Daisy Shah, a professional dancer, is being considered. And now we hear Priyanka Chopra too is being considered for the same part.

We could consider it a bomb hoax, or a bomb-shell hoax. This week there are stories of model Karishma Kotak lately seen in Season 6 of Bigg Boss, having wangled a prized lead opposite Salman Khan in his brother Sohail Khan’s next production to go on the floors. However Sohail Khan denies having signed or even approached Karishma. So where did this story emerge from? Apparently no one from Salman or Sohail’s production house has approached, let alone signed Ms Kotak, a half-British half-Indian like Katrina Kaif.

After impressing the audience with her performance in Saif Ali Khan's Cocktail, Diana Penty looks to be moving up the ladder in a big way. If all goes well, the pretty lady will soon be seen romancing Salman Khan. Diana will play the leading lady in Sohail Khan's upcoming directorial project tentatively titled <em>Radhe</em> that would star Salman Khan.

Even before the New Year dawns, people are drawing up a long list of things to do. Except for Salman Khan whose 2013 calendar is already choc-o-bloc with a series of his future films. Among these, Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut <em>Kick</em> is the first. The <em>Dabangg</em> star has officially confirmed that he will start shooting for Nadiadwala’s Hindi remake of a South film next year as soon as his film with Sohail Khan gets over. Sohail’s film is targeted to hit the theatres next Eid.

Among a lot of talks of Sohail Khan’s <em>Sher Khan</em> hitting a roadblock, Salman Khan has green lighted another film that will go on floors next year. The actor's next with brother Sohail is named after Radhe his famous long-haired avatar in the 2003 hit film <em>Tere Naam</em>. Averred Salman, "I am doing Sohail's film <em>Radhe</em> but this is just a working title as of now." Plans of revisiting the famous character is still in the nascent stage. Details are being worked out.

Contrary to reports that Salman Khan has changed plans for his Eid 2013 release and is now looking at remaking a South Indian film to be completed in time for Eid it has now come to light that <em>Sher Khan</em> is still on. But with a different title. Says a source close to the project. “For reasons best known to Salman he has decided to change his character’s name. He won’t be called Sher Khan in the film. Otherwise Sohail is still directing the same script.”

The human ‘Tiger’ Salman Khan will share screen space with a computer-generated tiger in Sohail Khan’s <em>Sher Khan</em>. Contrary to reports in media claiming that Sohail Khan’s film <em>Sher Khan</em> has been “canned”, the film is all set to roll in January 2013.

Fans of Salman Khan can rejoice. The superstar’s Eid release has been decided. It’s going to be the tough fantasy-action-adventure thriller <em>Sher Khan</em> after all.
