Star Pravah announced the launch of their political thriller, <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/vinay-apte-uday-tikekar-and-prasad-pandit-feature-star-pravahs-political-thriller-durva>Durva</a>, featuring well?known artists like Vinay Apte, Uday Tikekar and Prasad Pandit along with debutants like Suyash Tilak, Hruta Durgule and Harshad Atkari playing important characters in the show. <em>Durva</em> is directed by Deepak Nalawde and produced by Nitin and Ninad Vaidya of Dashami Creations.

Star Pravah's new political thriller Durva is scheduled to go on-air on 18 March. Earlier, the channel has experimented in genres like comedy, family drama, crime shows. <em>Durva</em> signals its foray into the political thriller genre. <em>Durva</em> is a story that depicts how people, even loved ones, are used as pawns in power games and are sacrificed for power and position. It is the story of an innocent girl who becomes a pawn in hands of people who wield power and play games with people who are near and dear to her.

She has been the creative head and director of many popular shows like Kutumb, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Teen Bahuraaniyan and most recently <em>Rang Badalti Odhani</em>. She also made a leap from the small to the big screen as the director of the movie <em>Damadamm</em>. Currently, she is co-producing and directing <em>Devyani</em> for Star Pravah.

The serial successfully completed 100 episodes yesterday (11 July 2012). Swapna Waghmare Joshi is the director as well as the co-producer of the show.

Reliance Big Productions is all set to launch their next fiction show on Star Pravah, <em>Lakshmi V/s Saraswathi</em> from 25 June 2012 at the 7 pm slot. The story will revolve around these two ladies Lakshmi and Saraswathi; while the former is totally against education, the latter has always given priority to education and believes that one can achieve anything in life if educated. While Lakshmi the mother is uneducated, she gets a daughter-in-law who is a degree holder. What happens when Lakshmi and Saraswathi’s varying mindsets clash under one roof? – will be the crux of the story.

Venturing into the regional space has become a new trend for mainstream producers these days. Production houses like Film Farm, Balaji and Beyond Dreams that earlier created content only for General Entertainment Channels have all started producing regional content as well. The latest one to join the bandwagon is Optimystix.

Amol Kolhe who made a name for himself as Shivaji of The <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/raja-shiv-chhatrapati-returns-star-pravah>Raja Shiv Chatrapati</a> is back with a bang. Kolhe will be seen in <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/man-udaan-varyache-star-pravah>Star Pravah</a>’s recently launched show <em>Olakh</em>. Amol will be seen essaying a very different character in this show.

<a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/srishtis-new-afternoon-show-gets-name-and-launch-date>Shrishti Arya</a>’s forthcoming show <a href=http://www.tellychakkar.com/news/thoda-hai-now-just-needs-time-slot-take>Thoda Hai Bas Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai</a> is still waiting to get a launch date and time slot; however the latest entrant in the show is Asawari Joshi who will be seen playing Prabha <em>Kaki</em>.

After creating ripples last year by making its presence felt on Marathi television, <em>Raja Shiv Chhatrapati</em> will return on Star Pravah on public demand. Starting January 25, the great Maratha warrior will continue to entertain and inspire the youth of today. Directed by Nitin Desai, Raja Shiv Chhatrapati will be telecast from Monday to Saturday at 6.30pm. The popular tele-serial <em>Raja Shiv Chhatrapati</em> began its journey along with the launch of the channel.
