Supreme Court sentences Sanjay Dutt for five year in jail

The Supreme Court has sentenced Sanjay Dutt to five years in jail for acquiring guns from gangsters involved in the 1993 bombings in Mumbai. But since Dutt has already served a jail sentence of a year-and-a-half, he will have to spend three years eight months in confinement. The Court also said that the circumstances and nature of offence was so serious that Dutt cannot be released on probation. Earlier, Dutt was to serve a sentence of six years under an order of a special court in Mumbai. Then he was also fined Rs 25,000.

Supreme Court quashes rape charges against Madhur Bhandarkar; the relieved man talks to Tellychakkar

The 9-year old ordeal and trauma of director Madhur Bhandarkar and his family ended suddenly on Monday morning when the honourable Supreme Court quashed the rape charges leveled against Madhur by starlet Preeti Jain. Madhur’s wife Renu broke into tears when he called her with the joyful news. Shared Madhur, “Our marriage was only six months old when this case happened. I called her. She was traveling. She jumped out of her seat. In fact when I left for the court in the morning she had told me it would end today.”
