Telugu film
Looks like Ekta Kapoor is pretty kicked with Varun Dhawan’s performance in Karan Johar’s Student of the Year. Otherwise why would the enchanting producer sign on 25-year old Varun to feature in the remake of a Telugu film Kandireega?
“We have approached Varun... We are in talks with him. Things are in process. We are getting things worked out. We had bought the rights of the Telugu film a year back,” said an official of Balaji Motion Pictures on conditions of anonymity while confirming them having approached Varun.

After her last film Dirty Picture turned out to be a smash hit, a gung ho Ekta Kapoor is bent on churning out films in plenty. So much so that Balaji Motion Pictures has chalked out as many as six films like Ek Thi Daayan, Shootout At Wadala, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi, Lootera, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again and Ragini MMS 2 to be released next year.
Ekta has recently bagged the Hindi remake rights of the Telugu film Kandireega that was immensely successful. The film starred Ram, Hansika and Aksha among others.
