MUMBAI: Nayanthara is a renowned actress who has wowed fans and followers with her acting skills. She has been part of a number of films and enjoys an impressive fan following. On the personal front, she recently tied the knot with director Vignesh Shivan.

The star couple from the South Indian cinema married each other at Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort & Spa, Mahabalipuram on June 9. The actress and the filmmaker-lyricist have flown off to Thailand for their honeymoon, as seen from the Instagram Stories uploaded by Vignesh.

The lovebirds had kept their honeymoon details a secret when they met the media on June 11 to thank them for their support during the wedding ceremony. But Vignesh couldn't control himself from sharing the photos from their Thailand honeymoon on his social media. The couple also posed for the pictures along with a fan in their flight to Bangkok. Nayanthara and Vignesh are enjoying their honeymoon at The Siam Hotel, an urban luxury resort located in the capital city of Bangkok. The Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal tagged the location on his Instagram Stories.

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s wedding ceremony was a star-studded affair with film celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Mani Ratnam, Rajinikanth, Suriya, Thalapathy Vijay, and others.

On the professional front, Nayanthara is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee's action-packed entertainer Jawan. The film's first look was recently revealed. Jawan will release in cinemas on June 2, 2023. Vignesh, on the other hand, will start working on his next directorial with Ajith Kumar. Starring Nayanthara as the female lead, it will release next year.

Post dating each other for close to seven years, the couple is planning to tie the knot in Chennai on Thursday, June 9. Over the weekend, the two met Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin and offered him an invitation to their wedding.

As they gear up for their big day, let's take a look back at their relationship timeline.

Nayanthara is one of the most sought-after actresses in India. She has been linked to actor Silambarasan and her relationship with Prabhu Deva derailed after four years. Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara also reportedly lived together for years before breaking up. Now, she has been with Shivan and the couple looks happy in each other's company.

Nayanthara and Vignesh met on the sets of the 2015 film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Vignesh was directing the film and Nayanthara was the leading lady. They formed a strong bond during the filming and fell for each other.

In 2017, the lovebirds made their first official appearance as a couple at an award show in Singapore. During the awards ceremony, Vignesh received the Best Director trophy and announced Nayathara's name from the stage. He also called her the 'best human being'. In the end, he thanked her for coming to the script reading and falling in love with him. Immediately after this, Nayanthara received the Best Actress award and she thanked Vignesh for believing in her.

According to reports, they got engaged in March 2021. She posed for a picture with a ring on her finger and later confirmed that she was taken. Rumours were rife when the couple was spotted paying a visit to Kalgammbal temple in March 2022. Nayanthara had put sindoor on her forehead which created a stir in the media.

It seems Kollywood's top celebrities such as Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Haasan, Ajith and others will come for the marriage. News has come that the entire ceremony will be shot and streamed on a global OTT platform. Rumour has it that Netflix has bought the streaming rights of the marriage. It will be filmed like a documentary. If this is true, then this is the first for an Indian celeb. Social media is wondering how much Nayanthara charged Netflix if the gossip was indeed true. She commands Rs four to five crore a film. The nuptials will happen on June 9. On June 8, they will host a starry reception.

The two have chosen Mahabalipuram for the wedding. It seems the reception will happen on June 8 while the wedding is from 4 am to 7 am in the morning. Gautam Vasudev Menon is expected to shoot the alleged wedding video.

Post dating each other for close to seven years, the couple is planning to tie the knot in Chennai on Thursday, June 9. Over the weekend, the two met Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin and offered him an invitation to their wedding. A photo of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivn with the Tamil Nadu CM surfaced on social media, and showed them presenting him with a bouquet. Nayanthara had the wedding invitation in her hand. Actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of MK Stalin, was also present on the occasion. It is believed that the wedding ceremony will take place at a resort near East Coast Road in Chennai.
