MUMBAI : The 28-year-old singer and rapper was brutally shot dead and succumbed to multiple bullet wounds. He was paid homage by many of his colleagues from the Punjabi Music Industry and his fans pan-India. He was killed in the Mansa district.

Now, we get to know that two of the late singer’s killers were gunned down after a heavy exchange of fire with the Punjab police. It happened on Wednesday, near Amritsar.

The gangsters who were killed are identified as Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh and an AK47 was recovered from them after the encounter. Three police officers and a journalist sustained injuries and a forensic reached the spot for further investigation.

Punjab ADGP Promod Ban said, “Heavy exchange of fire took place today, two gangsters involved in Sidhu Moose Wala case Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh were killed. We have recovered an AK47 and a pistol. 3 police officials have also suffered minor injuries,” in a media interaction.

The Punjab Congress has demanded “attention” of the Centre and the state governments regarding the current situation that is going on in the state.

The official further notified that the accused were being kept track of and following a movement in that area, the police acted upon it. Promod Ban is also the head of the Anti-Gangster Task Force.

Many arrests have been made during the investigations in his murder case and now the police has nabbed five people including a woman for allegedly helping a nephew of Lawrence Bishnoi for procuring a fake passports.

The accused helped Sachin Thapan and other gangsters to procure fake passports. Thapan, who happens to be a nephew of Lawrence, was allegedly involved in his murder conspiracy and later had fled the country.

Anmol Bishnoi and Sachin Thapan have plotted the singer’s murder and hired shooters, gave them equipment and soon fled the country using fake passports, according to the police. The accused have been identified as Rahul Sarkar, 27, a 27-year old woman, Navneet Prajapati, 33, Somnath Prajapati, 33, and Arjit Kumar, 55.

The police had received a tip on the 4th of July regarding the movement of Sarkar who happened to be in contact with Bishnoi’s gang and a trap was laid to nab him. The police waited near Saket Metro Station foot-over-bridge and caught him as he tried to flee. The driver, Sarkar was overtaken and apprehended as said by Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Benita Mary Jaiker.

At his instance, all the others among the five were apprehended. In the interrogation, Sarkar revealed that he was in touch with the criminals and especially Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang members. He helped Thapan to procure a fake passport with forged documents, made in the name of a Sangam Vihar resident, Tilak Raj Toteja, as revealed by the police.

MUMBAI: Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was on Wednesday presented before Chief Judicial Magistrate in Mansa court by Punjab Police in connection with Sidhu Moose Wala's murder case.

Bishnoi was taken to Punjab after Delhi's Patiala House Court on Tuesday allowed Punjab Police to arrest gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder and also allowed Punjab Police's transit application.

Advocate Vishal Chopra appearing for Lawrence Bishnoi opposed the Punjab Police application and said that there is a security threat. There is apprehension that Lawrence Bishnoi may be "eliminated" if transit remand is granted.

Bishnoi's lawyer submitted that we are not opposing virtual interrogation and investigation. "We are just opposing his physical transit remand to Punjab. Punjab Police can arrest him in the case if needed, but in Delhi only," he added.

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Jawaharke village of Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. The incident took place a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police among 424 others. Notably, the singer had joined the Congress party last year in December ahead of the Assembly elections.

MUMBAI: Punjabi actor Kartar Cheema has been detained by the Civil Lines Police in Amritsar on Monday after NSUI president Akshay Kumar accused the actor of issuing threats through gangster Goldy Brar for an alleged money dispute.

Brar had claimed the responsibility for the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was shot dead yesterday.

Reportedly, National Student Union of India president Akshay Kumar claimed that he had given Rs 25 lakh to Kartar Cheema on loan which the actor failed to return. Kumar further claimed that when he was on his way to the gym on Mall Road on Monday, he was followed by Cheema who brandished a pistol at him and this led to a verbal spat.

Satinder Singh alias Goldy Brar is a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He was involved in an extortion racket being run in Punjabi and took full responsibility for the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala.

Sidhu was killed on the spot at Jwahar Ke village in Mansa. The Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for killing the singer soon after. He alleged that he along with jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had engineered the assassination of the popular singer.

MUMBAI: MUMBAI: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was killed as a result of inter-gang rivalry and Canada-based Goldy Brar and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi are responsible for the killing, Punjab Director General of Police VK Bhawra said at a press conference on Sunday night.

But who are Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi, named in the gruesome killing of a popular Punjabi singer that has created shockwaves in Punjab and the country?

Satinder Singh, alias Goldy Brar, is considered to be a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Last year, a court in Punjab's Faridkot district issued an open-ended non-bailable arrest warrant against Goldy Brar over the killing of Youth Congress leader Gurlal Singh Pehalwan. The 34-year-old died on the spot after being shot 12 times by two unidentified assailants in Faridkot.

The alleged role of Goldy Brar came to light in a double murder case in Gurugram. On March 11, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested two sharpshooters belonging to the Kala Jatheri, Lawrence Bishnoi and Naresh Sethi gang. Later on April 8, Punjab Police arrested Gurpreet Singh, a close aide of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, with two pistols and eight live cartridges from Kharar.

Earlier in 2018, Mumbai Police beefed up security for superstar Salman Khan after Haryana Police's Special Task Force found out that arrested gangster Sampat Nehra was reportedly working to kill him. A sharpshooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Nehra, had even carried out a recce.
