MUMBAI: Pushpa The Rise, the first instalment that came in 2021, really got the audience hooked so badly that Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna became a popular face for the nation. Allu Arjun even went on to win a National Award for the role.

The movie was finally released today with special premiere shows last night. While the magic of Pushpa 2 has just begun, we reported earlier today that Pushpa 3: The Roar has been confirmed and as per updates, a new, big and bad villain will enter the movie. The franchise will go international in the third part, with Allu Arjun's Pushparaj to take on the Chinese and Japanese mafia.

Netizens are expressing their views on social media. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, director Sukumar and everything else about the movie is being praised by netizens. While there were premiere shows set up last night, the movie released today and social media is filled with videos where we can see fans celebrating the movie’s release and loving the experience.

MUMBAI: The curse of the sequel is something that sends shivers down the spoke of both industry insiders and film critics alike, given how rare it is for a sequel to live up to the standard of its predecessor. In this critic's humble opinion, only Dhoom 2, Don 2, Housefull 2, Baahubali 2, Tiger Zinda Hai, Fukrey Returns, and Lage Raho Munna Bhai have succeeded in this litmus test among Indian movies. It's even rarer for a sequel to be better than what came before by a fair distance. Unequivocally, only Terminator 2 and Deadpool 2 achieved this exalted distinction in the history of cinema, and no Indian film ever has been able to emulate the feat...till now. Pushpa the Rule aka Pushpa 2, which sees Icon Star Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna returns as the lead pair along with Director Sukumar at the helm, can easily be hailed as the first Indian film to do so in spite of how good and, more importantly, widely loved Pushpa was as a movie.

What makes Pushpa 2 such a crackerjack entertainer is an amalgamation of one scene after another, brimming with one moment after another, which keeps pumping your adrenaline and elevating you to a higher plane of cinematic ecstasy. Make no mistake though, it's not only the action that's responsible for this, which no doubt fuels tour testosterone (unless it's been surgically removed), especially the rip-roaring climax in a decrepit stone structure. What writer-Director Sukumar brilliantly pulls off is weaving a tapestry of humor, human emotions, dramatic highs, and no shortage of tender situations to boot, thus creating a mosaic that has everything for everyone in the family.

Of course, all of this is only possible because of Allu Arjun living, breathing, and becoming Pushparaj in every essence of the character. If his physicality, unique mannerisms, and idiosyncratic gait are never abandoned for a second, then his natural, subdued tenderness, childlike playfulness with his wife, and emotional breakdown post-climax make this one of the most endearing characters and finest leading-man performances in the history of Indian cinema, even better than part 1 for which he won the National Award.

On the other hand, it takes a very secure star and marvelous actor of the caliber of Fahadh Faasil to play second fiddle in all his confronts scenes with Allu Arjun, yet appear nasty albeit funnily nasty at the same time. Kudos to Sukumar, too, for allowing Rashmika Mandanna to grow into her character despite being Pushpa's love interest, plus writing a standout scene for her, which she nails to the T. The rest of the supporting cast are all in fine form, and words fall short for how Sukumar allows everyone space to thrive and makes us wish the movie never gets over after its herculean 3 hour and 20 minute runtime. Of course, editor Naveen Nooli merits equal praise for the latter.

Technically, the film is a treat as well, with Miroslaw Kuba Brozek's camerawork, the production design, costumes, hair and makeup all leaving an indelible mark. Devi Sri Prasad once again conjures magic with the songs and background score. This film is just one melting pot of greatness. The only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the opening scene, which ends up being nothing more than a false down that you easily forget within the next 15-20 minutes. Also, make sure to stay till the end. There's a lovely gift in store.

Rush to your nearest theater with your entire family or gang of friends, and then rush again, because Pushpa 2 deserves multiple viewings on the big screen. Don't miss this at any cost. At the box office, expect all records to be obliterated.

MUMBAI: The anticipation for Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule is crazy, with fans eagerly awaiting its release as it is set to dominate cinemas globally. However, amidst the craze for the film, director Christopher Nolan's hit, Interstellar has been re-released on IMAX screens worldwide.
