A lot goes into attaining perfection and not settling for mediocrity: Script Writer/Creative Head, Neelofur Alliah

Script Writer/Creative Head, Neelofur Alliah
Are you familiar with the name of Neelofur Alliah? No, then let us introduce her to you guys. A woman born and brought up in Kolkata, Neelofur is a very talented script-writer and is also a creative head for projects. Having come down to Mumbai to pursue her dream of making it big in the world of entertainment, the lady is living up to it via her hard work. She stays in this metropolis all by herself while her family that consists of her parents and a younger sister stay in Kolkata. Seeing her for the first time doesn’t give an impression of her having worked for a very long time but the fact is that the lady has been here for quite some time now. In a chat with Tellychakkar.com she talks about her journey and more... When and how did you enter the industry? Always interested in media, I came down to Mumbai to look out for a job after completing my Masters in Electronic Media from Bangalore University. Here I got in touch with Deepti (Bhatnagar) Ma’m who was then looking out for a script writer. Though I did not have any writing experience I wrote two pages for her which she liked. Without a second thought I was taken on board as a script writer for her international travel show Humsafar. While working on this show I had a chance to travel across the globe. After some time I changed my track and diverted myself to the Food Food channel for which I worked on two cooking-based shows namely Bigg Boss Brunch and Ticket Restaurant Meal Voucher People’s Restaurant as script writer. Both these shows were hosted by Deepti Ma’m. When did you bag your first fiction show? Chintu Ban Gaya Gentleman was my first fiction show but I worked as a creative on it as it was a silent comedy. Then I did another cookery show Global Tadka followed by SAB TV’s Jo Biwi Se Kare Pyaar. Have you been with Deepti Bhatnagar Productions all this while? Yes, because our wavelengths match a lot and we have a great understanding when it comes to work. Ma’m gave me my first break and has been very supportive. So I never felt the need to move out. How tough is the job of a creative head? It’s not all that tough if you have a brilliant team and someone like Deepti Ma’m to back you. But then a lot goes into attaining perfection and not settling for mediocre things something that I always work towards. I always make it a point to give my hundred percent in everything that I do. What are the things that you haven’t tried yet and would love to get your hands on? Actually I came down to Mumbai to become a director but then I got a lot to discover about myself here. However it is my solemn wish to direct a show someday. I’d also like to write for daily soaps something that I’ve never done earlier. We are sure that all the cookery shows must have given you enough experience to cook. Do you cook? Yes, I did learn a lot of cuisines. I can cook some international cuisines as well. In fact, people on my sets joke about me opening a restaurant someday (laughs). What’s next for you? Frankly speaking, I haven’t thought about it yet, but whatever it is, I will give my best to it.
