Paralympian Deepa Malik pays tribute to policemen and women on Police Commemoration Day

Deepa Malik, who is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games, has dedicated her latest post to police personnel.

MUMBAI: Athlete Deepa Malik’s story has inspired many. She won against all odds and made a strong place for herself in the world of sports.  

She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games. A bike lover, she has participated in various adventure sports and won accolades for her performance. She has been bestowed with several awards for her contribution in the field of sports.  

Deepa is quite active on social media. Her Instagram page is home to various pictures that give her fans a glimpse of her personal and professional life.   

Today, on Police Commemoration Day, the renowned Paralympian took to Instagram to pay a tribute to policemen and women.

She has shared a few pictures wherein she can be seen posing alongside police officers. She wrote, “Saluting the sacrifice and the valour of the policemen & women who have been martyred in the line of duty, on #PoliceCommemorationDay today! Extremely grateful for their service. Celebrated the #PoliceFlagDay along with the police officers at the #HARERA Office! Jai Hind!.”

Police Commemoration Day is observed to pay tribute to the police personnel who were killed by Chinese troops in an ambush at Hot Springs area near Ladakh in 1959.
