Seems like the cloud of controversy just doesn’t want to move away from the Bigg Boss house. With efforts from the makers to keep the show clean and ‘parivarik’, the show’s host Salman Khan had himself tried to change the format of the show from last season, and it indeed had worked in their favour.
And now with the current season being on-air the show has managed to grab some unwanted attention from the Ministry.
Yes, with fights among contestants heating up things on the show, foul language and abuses were hurled at each other. And how to forget the newly blooming romance between Kushal and Gauahar who seem to have become lovebirds on the show. Even Tanisha and Armaan’s closeness and the latter’s use of expletives against Andy may have made the bomb to explode on the show.
Don’t worry not a real bomb!!!
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has issued a notice to the channel against Bigg Boss. The Ministry reportedly feels the show’s content is not suitable for unrestricted public viewing.
The channel confirming the news have issued a statement which reads as follows-
“Today, we have received a show cause notice on Bigg Boss from the ministry of information & broadcasting (I&B), and we shall submit our response to the same within time limit prescribed by the ministry,” read the statement.
The channel claims to follow a “strict Standard & Practices (S&P) team, that does self-regulations, which works closely with the programming team on all aspects to ensure a safe family viewing experience.”
“As a responsible broadcaster, we are mindful of our audiences’ sentiments and respect the guidelines set by the I & B Ministry and BCCC (Broadcasting Content Complaints Council). Last year, the format of Bigg Boss was changed to make it more parivarik (suitable for family viewing) such that it is completely suitable for viewing across ages 7 years to 70 years. The casting of the show has also been done accordingly this year as well. And our efforts of making Bigg Boss, parivarik has been applauded by all stakeholders in the broadcast industry,” it further stated.
With this notice coming in, will we see Salman reprimanding the contestants next week to keep their cool or will the show be shifted to a late night slot to save itself from such notices in future.
