Divya Agarwal schools the youth and trolls on violence and abuse, says, ' to live and let live'

MUMBAI: Divya Agarwal is a complete no-nonsense girl. A strong-headed personality by nature, the reality TV diva talks about relationships, heartbreak, social media, and youth. Divya opens about her break-up in public, falling in love on TV, and what it is like being a public figure. Read on:

Being a public figure did it bother you when your breakup was out in the open?

Yes, it affected me. If I was just a common school or a college girl, who was facing all of this, life would been much easier. You don’t have so many people around you to say what is happening. When it goes public, people tend to think that it’s a matter of their house. They just blast you. That time I was handling a million people on social media. It was so difficult. I felt like I have to prove myself right. I was going crazy. But I finally learnt that even though my personal life was out in the open, I am 100% sure that amongst million, there may be 100 girls who have seen this and have learnt something out of it. They might get motivation from my experience and prioritise self. I think I might have changed few lives there. Even today I get messages from many girls thanking me. Now when I look back, I think, whatever happens, happens for good. Let’s set an example.

My mom was so angry, if you see the final of Ace of Space. She looked so upset. She was like, ‘What is this happening in your life? You get a boyfriend from every reality show.’ I told her, ‘Mom I have just done two reality shows and it happened for the second time. But this time I am 100 % sure.’ Good it happened on television. I just want to tell people to not give up on love. I have seen girls blaming the entire gender. But all men are not bad. I have seen my father… so much in love with my mother. In my mentality, couples do stay together even if they have small arguments. I might have gone through one break-up, but I don’t blame the boy. Sometimes coordination between two people don’t work out. Thankfully, I was best friends with Varun. Had Varun been a new guy, who I met on show, I might not have trusted him. It was a relationship, a bond of friendship for years. We already had the trust.
