EXCLUSIVE! Hiba Nawab on facing challenges while playing Sayuri's character in Woh To Hai Albelaa: It was very challenging as it

MUMBAI: After her successful stint in Jijaji Chhat Par Koi Hai, Hiba Nawab is back with her new show.

How challenging was it for you to portray Sayuri's character after doing comedy for several years?

It was very challenging as it was something that I was doing for the first time. I wanted to be like that. I wanted my director to guide me in the right direction. He was very helpful and patient in the beginning. When I was playing Elaichi and CP in the Jija Ji Chhat Par Hai series, I became like my character. This character is completely opposite. I told my director to be very patient with me. I used to work really hard for it. I used to get my script beforehand to rehearse my dialogues.

Were you conscious about taking up this role? Did you worry about the viewers' reaction?

I was eagerly waiting to see the viewers' reaction. As an actor, I am always looking forward to experimenting with each and every genre. I am trying to give my best. I want the viewers to accept me. I got a positive response from the fans for the promo. But I was very nervous. I would really appreciate any kind of feedback.

How relatable is your character to you?

I feel the post-pandemic Hiba is more like Sayuri. I started being very conscious about many things. I was very carefree before. But now, I am not like that. My family was extremely disturbed due to the pandemic. It affected their business as well. I started supporting them financially as well mentally. I have siblings who are there for them but even I wanted to be there for them. Just like Sayuri is there for her family in the show, I was there for mine.

Woh To Hai Albelaa hit the small screens from 14th March onwards on Star Bharat at 9 PM.

Stay tuned to TellyChakkar for all the latest updates.
