MUMBAI: Kanupriya Pandit is a renowned TV actress who has worked in several movies and television shows in her long career span. 

The actress is currently seen playing the character of Meera in Sony TV's show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2.

Kanupriya is playing Disha Parmar aka Priya's role in the show. 

We all know that Kanupriya was previously seen as Erica Fernandes' mother in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 which was also Balaji's show.

TellyChakkar got in touch with the actress who spoke in length about her character and much more.

You have played the female lead's mother in a lot of shows. Do you feel you have got typecast for it?

After Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2, I did Story 9 Months Ki where I played the role of the hero's mother. But she was very fun-loving. There are various shades in a mother's character as well. There is a lot of difference in my character in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 and Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2. The one in Kasauti was a woman who had a happy family and had her husband by her side but she was quite open-minded. Whereas here, I am playing a single mother and this character has its own set of challenges.

Tell us about your equation with Disha Parmar...

My bond with Disha is really nice. I have two daughters in real life too so there's no problem in gelling up with Disha as I am quite comfortable. Disha is very sweet and a different girl. She has a shade of Priya like her sense of humour. Disha is very to-the-point just like Priya's character. She doesn't mince words and never lies. While performing scenes, I sometimes say, look here's the scene which relates to you and she smiles and says, ''Yes, ma'am". There is something about her that is very genuine. 

Kanupriya talks about her husband Chetan Pandit who is a renowned actor in the industry. 

Would you like to share screen space with your husband?

We got many offers of ad films, short films, and much more offers came our way. However, somehow it didn't materialise. I was doing back-to-back shows and couldn't take up the offer. I would like to do a play with him. Personally, I wouldn't want to do a TV show with him because two people doing the same project is not a good idea. It is very time-consuming to do a TV show. If two people give too much time to one show it becomes quite hectic. 

Kanupriya has previously worked in shows and movie like Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan.

The actress is also a well-known writer and director.
