MUMBAI: Popular television actress Twinkle Arora, best known for her standout performances in Udaariyaan and Ishq Hai Tumse, is all set to make a powerful return to the small screen. After a brief hiatus, Twinkle is creating quite the buzz as she steps into the lead role of Jhanak, Star Plus’ much-anticipated drama.
In an exclusive chat with TellyChakkar, Twinkle opened up about her decision to return to television, the unexpected twists in her career path, and the character that reignited her passion for acting.

You were on a break from television. What made you choose Jhanak as your comeback project?
“I’m someone who thrives on work—I genuinely can’t stay idle for too long,” Twinkle begins candidly. “When Khoobsurat was abruptly shelved, it hit me hard. It felt like a very dark and uncertain phase in my life. That’s when I decided to take a step back from television and shift my focus towards films.”
And shift she did. Twinkle went on to complete her first feature film, which is all set for release on 25th July 2025. “It’s a project I’m really proud of,” she beams.But destiny had other plans in store.
“I was approached for a cameo in a serial with one of my former co-stars. The process was already in motion—we did mock shoots, look tests, and were almost at the contract stage. Initially, it was supposed to be a short stint until November or December, but suddenly the character was extended to a year-long arc. Just as I was preparing for that commitment, the role was unexpectedly restructured and they decided to go in a different direction.”
As fate would have it, soon after, Twinkle received the offer for Jhanak
“That’s when I knew. It felt like the universe—or perhaps God—was nudging me toward a long-term, fulfilling project. I didn’t hesitate. I signed on for Jhanak, and I haven’t looked back since.”
What can you tell us about your character in Jhanak?
“My character is called Moon, and she’s an absolute firecracker,” Twinkle says with a smile. “She’s intelligent, well-mannered, and comes from a respectable family background. But she’s not without her battles—Moon has made countless sacrifices, she knows her limits, and yet, carries an infectious zeal for life.”
Describing Moon as “the quintessential girl next door,” Twinkle adds, “What she truly desires is a peaceful, happy life with her loved ones. She values family and love above all else. There’s a quiet strength in her that many viewers will connect with.”
With her return to television, Twinkle Arora is all set to charm audiences in a brand new avatar—one that promises a blend of depth, relatability, and spirited resilience. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see her breathe life into Moon on Jhanak, and if her past performances are any indicator, they’re in for a treat.
